Dear Customers,
Thank you so much for your continued support for Nyagomidokoro.
Today, I have an important update to share with our valued customers about our cat toys.
I’ve been making matatabi cat toys since 2010.
I’ve decided to gradually end sales without restocking, as each design sells out.
(This doesn’t mean everything will end right away — the stock is expected to last for about another year as of April 2025.)
It took me a long time to find the right moment to share this. When our most popular item, the Baguette cat toy, sold out, I finally felt ready to let you know.
There are a few reasons behind this decision.
One is that the fabric maker I had been working with for many years has closed down, and I could no longer find the same quality of fabric.
Another is my health issue.
I have immensely enjoyed making and delivering our cat toys to cats all over the world and truly devoted myself to our shop. But working non-stop for many years has taken its toll on me.
I developed tendonitis and suffered from severe insomnia. I ignored my body’s SOS signals for a long time, and in the end, it became clear I needed to take better care of myself.
In early 2024, I took a 3-month break, and now I’m continuing at a much slower pace.
My beloved cat Myu is now 15.
There were times when I couldn’t spend as much time with him as I wanted to, so now I want to cherish these quiet, slow days with him.
That said, I will continue offering what’s left while stock lasts, as I gradually bring things to a close.
At the current pace, I expect the stock will last for about another year, as of April 2025.
Please note that the number of designs is becoming limited — only big-sized bottle shapes remain, and only a few fish-shaped toys are left.
Since I can only make a limited number each month, I kindly ask customers to avoid bulk purchases.
These cat toys were born when Myu swallowed a part of a store-bought toy. I started making them so that cats could play safely.
Since then, I have made over 20,000 cat toys and sent them not only in Japan, but to cats all over the world.
It makes me truly happy and deeply grateful.
To customers who found us through Etsy or Amazon, supported us on social media, or shared photos and videos of cats enjoying our toys — every one of those moments is a treasure to me.
We will continue announcing monthly sale dates on our website and social media as always.
I will continue to make each one with love and care until the very end.
I truly appreciate all the love and support.
With love and wishes for you and your cats’ happiness.
Hiromi from Nyagomidokoro
