Important Announcement About Our Cat Toys ~We’re gradually ending sales~

Dear Customers,

Thank you so much for your continued support for Nyagomidokoro.

Today, I would like to share with you lovely cat owners important news about our handmade matatabi cat toys.

I’ve decided to phase out the production and hence the sales. This means that I will not be restocking as each design sells out.

However, please be reassured that the sales will not end immediately as we have enough stock that is expected to last, as of April 2025, for about a year.

It was not an easy decision for me to stop the production of the toys that I have been hand-making since 2010, and I have been waiting for the right moment to share the news with you. Now that we have sold the last stock of the most popular “Baguette” design, I’ve decided it is the right time to announce this news.

One reason why I’ve decided to stop offering the handmade cat toys is because the fabric maker I had been working with for many years has closed down, and I could no longer find the same high-quality fabric.

The other reason is my health issue.
I have immensely enjoyed making and delivering our cat toys to cats all over the world and truly devoted myself to our shop. But working non-stop for many years has taken its toll on me.

I developed tendonitis and suffered from severe insomnia. I ignored my body’s SOS signals for a long time, and in the end, it became clear I needed to take better care of myself.

In early 2024, I took a 3-month break, and since then I’ve been continuing the production at a much slower pace.

My beloved cat Myu is now 15.
There were times when I couldn’t spend as much time with him as I would have liked to. I feel that now is the time to cherish the quiet, slow days with him.

That said, I will continue offering what’s left while stock lasts, as I gradually bring things to a close.

Looking at the current pace of sales, I expect the stock will last, as of April 2025, for about a year, as mentioned above.

Please note however, that the number of designs available is becoming limited — the only available bottle shapes designs are the big-sized ones, and  fish-shaped designs have almost sold out.
Since I can only make a very few number of toys each month, I kindly ask customers to avoid bulk purchases.

These cat toys were born when Myu swallowed a part of a store-bought toy. I wanted toys that cats could play with safely.

Since then, I have made over 20,000 toys for cats not only in Japan, but also all over the world.

It makes me truly happy and deeply grateful.

To customers who found us through Etsy or Amazon, supported us on social media, or shared photos and videos of cats enjoying our toys — I would like to say a big THANK YOU. Every one of those memories remain a treasure to me.

In the meantime, we will continue announcing monthly sale dates on our website and social media as before. Each of the rest of the toys that I will make will be filled with love and tender care as always.

I truly appreciate all the love and support.
With love and wishes for you and your cats’ happiness.

Hiromi from Nyagomidokoro
